How To Take Your Wife On A Date (2 of 2)

Yesterday I wrote “How to take your wife on a date.” Well, to put my words into action, I took my wife out on a surprise date last night. Here’s how it all went down.

Everything is better in 3D.

In the planning phase, I took advantage of our existing schedule. We had a meeting scheduled for some consulting that she was a part of in the afternoon, so it was not a shock to her that I dropped all three kids over with my parents. They of course were in on the plan and had set the kids up to stay overnight. On top of that key detail, my wife was already dressed up for the meeting, so we were good to go.

After she and I did quick a post-meeting rundown, I surprised her with a movie. She loves pretty much all the same things I do, so World War Z was an easy sell. That, and the fact that she likes the way I look in 3D glasses.

Once Brad Pitt saved the world, I took her out for some Sushi, (I tried the Tonkatsu). We spent half the time laughing and even created an Oscar worthy Vine video of our dinner experience.

Finally, I took her out to an old school ice cream stand for some frozen custard. That was good. Letting her know the kids were spending the night with my parents and we didn’t have to pick them up was something I saved for last.

So there you have it. Even if you haven’t planned ahead, you can still put together a great date night for this evening. What are you waiting for?
